BUD has taken a number of initiatives to reduce and compensate the environmental impacts of its airport operations. The Budapest Airport Forest is an integral part of the airport operator’s responsible and sustainable operations. Budapest Airport strives to maintain its position as a regional industry leader in sustainability and create long-term value. Budapest Airport aims to be a role model for the industry in the area of sustainability. Trees help combat global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide, removing and storing carbon, while releasing oxygen back into the air. By planting more trees, Budapest Airport contributes to global reforestation efforts, restoring lost forests, repairing damaged ecosystems and mitigating climate change.
