Our mission is to make our world more sustainable and beautiful. We believe improving our climate is more than just necessary, and we want to make specials things together with you.

For every tree we use, we plant two new trees. We try to do this locally as much as possible, near Leersum and France. But we also work together with Treedom, a certified B corporation that plants trees all over the world. 

The trees we have charred for your project, will be planted in the Zwarthout l Shou Sugi Ban forest. In this forest, you can see exactly where your trees are planted and how they grow!&nbsp;

Zwarthout I Shou Sugi Ban forest

Since 2012 Zwarthout | Shou Sugi Ban produces exclusive wood products by treating the wood with fire. Our charring masters char each wooden board&nbsp;in our own oven, resulting in a unique, sustainable carbon layer. The special&nbsp;Shou Sugi Ban&nbsp;charring technique we use is inspired by an age-old Japanese tradition.&nbsp;The primal power of the fire remains visible in the colour and texture of the wood. All black charred wood species have their own unique structure and applications, both from an aesthetic and physical structure perspective.&nbsp;The black charred wood made by Zwarthout | Shou Sugi Ban is very well suited for applications like sustainable façade cladding and&nbsp;exceptional interiors.&nbsp;
