The important moments in your tree's life.
The Almond belongs to the Rosaceae family, and is therefore related to plants like the rose and hawthorn as well as other fruit trees such as the peach (Almonds are often grafted using the peach as a rootstock), plum, cherry and pear. The trees are particularly suited to the Mediterranean climate: Italy was a major almond producer for many years, although it has long since been overtaken by countries such as the US and Australia. Its fruit is extremely well-known, but so are its flowers - not surprisingly, since an Almond in blossom is unmistakeably beautiful.
Legend has it that the young princess Phyllis fell in love with the Greek hero Acamas as he was departing for the Trojan War. After 10 years, when her beloved had still not returned, Phyllis died of grief. Moved by the story, the goddess Athena turned Phyllis into an Almond tree. But Acamas was still alive; on discovering what had befallen his love on his return, he found the tree and embraced it. The warmth of his embrace caused the tree to blossom with love.
My estimated CO2 absorption capacity is based on the first 10 years of my life*

* The tree will continue to absorb CO2 even after the tenth year. Therefore this is a prudent estimate.
Its fruits, seeds and/or leaves are used as food in the farmers' families or are sold on local markets.
The trees will bear fruits, some that will be edible immediately and others that can become edible through processing, ensuring food resources over time.
The trees' fruits and the products derived from their transformation can be traded in local networks, offering income opportunities.
During its life cycle, each tree will absorb CO₂. The trees you plant can offset your emissions.
The trees are planted in agroforestry systems that favor the virtuous interaction between the different species and their positive impact on the environment and on the land.
