Let's start with introductions
This tree reaches and exceeds 30 meters in height. The diameter of the trunk can reach 140 cm. The young branches are pubescent (meaning that they are covered by a light fluff), while the older branches don't have leaves, but can reach up to 20 meters in length with a diameter of 20 cm. It is splendid when it blooms and its crown is filled with clusters of flowers.

This species of Rosewood is endemic in the eastern part of Madagascar, but is considered at risk due to excessive logging. It is the only variety, among all 64 Rosewoods, that lives over 200 years.
