parkrun (always lowercase and one word) is an idea born from the mind of Paul Sinton-Hewitt, which allows you to manage running events of 5 km free, weekly, timed, local, on Saturday morning.The events are organized by groups of local volunteers in pleasant and protected environments - generally city parks - and are open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, politics and skills. Disabled people can participate in parkrun wherever minimum conditions are in place to ensure their safety.To become a parkrunner you have to register only once in life on the site parkrun.it and download your own barcode - from then on you can participate in any parkrun event all over the world.parkrun allows registration and provides results, statistics, photos and news through the website www.parkrun.com and www.parkrun.it. Each event has its own minisite within the website.Where possible, each event offers a post-race meeting point (cafe, bar, pub) to allow runners, volunteers and supporters to meet and socialize after the event.
