Bucerius Law School is a research institution and training center for future leaders. Since our foundation in 2000, the Law School has endeavored to serve as a model in the higher education landscape. This necessitates greater societal engagement and an acute understanding of social responsibility - extending to environmental and climate protection. Through numerous activities on and around campus, we are committed to exceeding our social commitments. Students, alumni, professors, employees, friends, sponsors and, of course, the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius all play a role on our path to climate neutrality and sustainability. Bucerius Global Forest

In 2000, the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius established Bucerius Law School, Germany’s first private law faculty. Reimagining the country’s longstanding legal studies curriculum, promoting greater exploration of domestic legal concepts in international discourse and expanding models of learning that facilitate global exchange - that was the mission. Our international orientation caused a bit of a stir at the time of our founding; in the years since, international undertakings have become firmly anchored in all areas of our teaching and research. Legal research at Bucerius spans a wide thematic range and is carried out by a faculty of educators with equally diverse expertise. The Law School is a community for academic training and encounters with the next generation of lawyers. Simultaneously, it functions as a platform for thought-leaders&nbsp;and trailblazers to exchange constructive and critical ideas with practitioners. Our shared experience and success have created a special sense of community: the Law School Spirit.
