The Forest
Il paesaggio colombiano è impressionante perché offre davvero di tutto: montagne, spiagge, isole tropicali e foreste pluviali. Ed è proprio per contribuire alla salvaguardia di questa biodiversità che in collaborazione con Treedom, Viaggigiovani.it ha fatto piantare 2.000 alberi da frutto nel nord del Paese. I benefici saranno svariati dall'assorbimento di 615,50 tonnellate di CO₂ alla creazione di sistemi forestali resilienti. Ma i vantaggi non si limitano certo ai fattori ambientali.Le comunità locali, infatti, trarranno giovamento diretto dagli alberi in termini di risorse alimentari ed opportunità economiche. Loro si prenderanno cura degli alberi nel tempo e godranno dei loro frutti.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
