The Forest
A forest, featuring about 10.000 mango, banana, macadamia, African cherry and avocado trees to be planted in Kenya in 2018. The initiative won’t only have a positive impact on the natural environment, but it will also benefit the people living in the area, which will have the chance to work in the plantation and also to fulfill their basic food needs with the fruits. In order to raise awareness on social responsibility, Pinko created an exclusive T-shirt, crafted from Italian organic cotton and sold in an eco-friendly packaging, which will promote the project on a global scale. The minimal T-shirt style encourages consumers to take action by inviting them to fill in the gaps with their own social promise. Pinko actually pushes them to ask themselves – What do I want to? And, what am I going to start with? The brand’s goal is to show how simple gestures, like customizing a T-shirt, can have a positive impact on the future of the planet. “This initiative is only the firs step of a long path Pinko will make to build a strong set of social values which are extremely relevant for the younger generations, that are more and more environment conscious.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
The trees in the forest will absorb:
