The Forest
Putting together the words "Fashion" and "Sustainability" is very complex. In particular, the production of fashion accessories very often turns out to be both an energy and resource consuming process.Making this industry sustainable requires the joint effort of all companies and customers that are part of the supply chain. Initiatives related to recycling of materials and human resources, although essential, are by their nature insufficient to ensure a future for the next generations.EMA Srl consistently deemed the minimization of its Carbon Footprint as the best possible initiative. While efforts such as reducing consumption, using solar panels, choosing a fleet of electric vehicles, and purchasing energy produced from renewable sources are pivotal, the compensation of business' carbon emissions is likewise much needed. For this reason, the company decided to develop a 1900-threes forest in various countries to try to offset the carbon dioxide produced by vehicle, people and material movements. This initiative is the first in a series of Carbon Neutrality actions.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
The trees in the forest will absorb:
527.50 t* of CO₂
