The Forest
When education takes rootAs an international university, we do not see climate change as a trend, but rather as a duty to work for a greener life. For this reason, we support recognised climate protection projects and actively incorporate the topic of sustainability into our study programmes. Since 2020, IU has also been teaching and working in a climate -neutral way - as the first distance learning university worldwide.Because we have to think aheadWith new students, not only IU grows, but also our responsibility. That is why we are constantly working on new innovative tools to make learning more independent, but also greener. We want to make graduates and students with extraordinary goals happy with a personalised tree. Because only together can we think further, bigger and greener.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
