The Forest
Since its inaugural award ceremony in 2017, the GCFAs have taken place in Milan at Teatro La Scala. This disruptive year changed the rules of the game and made us understanding that we needed to conceive our systems differently. As nature teaches us, nothing is created or destroyed, but everything is transformed. So that is why we decided this year to organize our GCFAs digitally to ensure that our message of hope and endless opportunities could reach and inspire even more people globally. Organizing a digital event resulted in significant savings in travel from attendees that would have joined us in Milan; but still we are aware that an impact on our planet is nevertheless generated by our event. For this reason, we have decided to create together with Treedom the Eco-Age GCFA Italia 2020 Global Forest, to ensure we can reduce the carbon footprint of our event, proving that willingness to change is the driver for a more responsible future.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
