The Forest
Together with Treedom, we are creating a small agroforestry project resulting in environmental and social benefits. The environmental benefits include storage of carbon from the atmosphere, reforestation, protecting and increasing biodiversity, combating soil erosion and desertification, while the social benefits include direct funding for local farmers and agricultural cooperatives, training and income opportunities and community empowerment and strengthening food security.With this project, COF is making a significant contribution to 10 of the 17 goals adopted by the United Nations for sustainable development for people, planet and prosperity.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
